All the writing in present tense is kind of weird.The characters' decisions seem a little short-sighed. I'm not sure if this is a function of to whom the book is targeted, or something else, but the story seems to lack complexity. It's similar to the difference between a linear game and an open world game, I guess. I'll keep reading, but I need something more complex for a while before moving on with this series
